Evernote, the development team behind one of the most popular app for taking notes, has just announced that it has updated its main product to version 2.5. The new update brings lots of advanced features and improvements, which make the application even more appealing.

One of the most exciting features introduced is the Advanced Search function which enables users to “construct complex searches using tags, notebooks, attributes, location and dates.”

Creating an 'advanced search' is simple and requires users to access the Search screen from the application home screen, widget or header bar, then tap “Advanced Search” and select from a wide range of search criteria.

All the “advanced search” created go directly into the browser's history and are easy to access whenever the users feel like it.

Another important feature introduced is called To-dos and adds support for to-do check boxes which were exclusively available for Windows and Mac versions of the application.

- Notebook sync preferences, users can manage their notebook sync preferences and see the size of their notebooks much easier;- Sync performance and robustness: the phone will sync faster especially over a cell network;- The sync process is now more robust: users are less likely to run into problems uploading or downloading notes;- More views of more things: added a simple text-only view of the user's note list, which scrolls and loads faster with many notes;- Added a full screen mode for reading notes;- Better sync info: improved the sync status bar to make it easier to tell what synchronization is doing.

Users with beta version of the application won't see the update on the Android Market, as the beta version was already updated last week.
